Brainblogging - A well reasoned article (now there's a loaded statement for you) that argues that blogging makes you smarter. Fedora Tip to Hugh Hewitt.

Ranting Against Former Klansmen - The Blogosphere has beat to death the Robert Byrd story in which the former sheetshifter compares Republican judicial policy to Hitler's policies, so I won't go into depth here. I'll just say this. Ring ring - Hello pot? This is kettle. Guess what, you're black!

Alan Colmes bemoaned on last night's H&C about how Republicans are always bringing up Byrd's past, complaining that they don't embrace the Christian concept of a human being able to change. I agree, in part, I do find the constant Klan references a bit bothersome. But it might help the situation if Old Bobby didn't obstruct minority judges from taking a place on federal benches. With a background like his its difficult to tell when he's playing politics and when he's agreeing with his old past.

Poetry - Today's poem is an irregular verse about the Korean War.

Humor - This is the funniest thing I've read in a long, long time.

Social Security - Seems the Democrat party hasn't learned anything in the past 5 years. They keep complaining that GWB hasn't given them a plan for Social Security. He has, but let's ignore that for the moment. He hasn't really sold it, but the Dems have been coming out against it with both barrels.

Haven't they noticed Karl Rove's game plan yet? He puts out an idea, then waits for the enemy to waste their time attacking it, then Rove pulls out the big guns and beats them to death. Its happened before, in the 2004 campaign. All the talking heads were wondering why GWB wasn't campaigning heavily in the summer. Well, he didn't so that the Dems would spend all their cash early.

I suspect the same thing is happening now.
