Woo Woo - That's what I say to Zowie Howie and the Deanie Babies taking over leadership of the Democrat party. Jennifer likes these, though I find them a little too fruity for my tastes.

Take 1 measure vodka ,1 1/2 measures peach schnapps, 4 measures cranberry juice. Shake over ice and strain into a highball glass filled with ice.

Getting drunk is, to my mind, one of the most socially embarrassing things that could happen to a person. It takes a measure of self-control to remain sober that supposedly has been instilled in you since you left diapers. Limit yourself, its good for you.

Questions on Social Security - Will someone in the Democrat party please tell me what would be so earth-shattering bad about me directing where my retirement funds go?

Will someone in the Democrat party please tell me why, if subsidization encourages behavior and taxation discourages behavior,  we tax people's work and subsidize retirement?

Oh, sure, its "for the good of society", but its mandatory participation at both the giving and receiving end. Moral behavior is only fruitful if the behavior is voluntary. Its no good forcing someone if their heart isn't willing to go along. In fact, its even immoral, because it violates their self-representative rights.

So will someone in the Democrat party please tell me why they have to stand by a program designed from the ground up as a Ponzi scheme that milks the young to give welfare to the old who don't plan for their own retirement? Why can't we opt out of it?

Do they recognize that we are no longer in the Depression? Why do we have to keep a program that was designed back then for that economic time?

We don't. Changing the system so that we can control own own money is a good idea.

I could be a weatherman - Remember yesterday's rain haiku? Well, that refers to normal desert rain, not the rain we've been having the past few days. The past few days have been a slow, steady, windless drizzle, which makes for great early morning conditions. I love rainstorms. We get so few of them here it makes for interesting weather, downright enjoyable.
