Whoever invented Nillas should have his birthday turned into a national holiday - I love the things. From Gopher Central:

No one knows the true origin of the vanilla wafer, but Nabisco was the first to distribute these wafers in grease and moisture-proof cartons, which helped to keep our Vanilla Wafers longer and fresher than local bakeries.

Oh well. It seems the great Google knows everything it can find, but not everything that exists.

Unknown Blog - The Penultimate Genius

Extortion and Other Tales - Valentine's Day is Monday. I have dinner and the gift set up, but the flowers! Who thought up this extortion racket? I went to a florist the other day and asked how much it would be for a dozen roses.

"$59.95, and we recommend you place your order today so we can guarantee availability."

Regular price for this particular store was anywhere from $10-$15. I love my wife, but I hate the flower industry. Thieves, they are. Downright dirty thieves.

Hounds on the Trail - Fox News mentioned Eason Jordan's predicament last night on Hannity & Colmes. Michelle Malkin & Captain Ed still have the best coverage, but the bloodhounds in big media have their noses to the ground. This story is going to break big, and Eason will have to leave his job. Much like the three at CBS who were asked to leave. Oh, wait, they haven't left yet.

Much as I berate Democrats for their anti-military stance they typically take, I have to applaud them this time - Barney Frank and Chris Dodd did express doubt and outrage at the alleged statement. Good for them.

Eason Jordan is is deep trouble. He'd better come up with an authentic tape exonerating himself, or do the graceful thing: admit his mistake and resign from CNN.
