January 27th, 2005 Reading Lists - I did this every once in a while when I used GreyMatter for the site. I haven't updated it in a while, so I figured, 'why not?' Here's the lists for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. Yeah, I know, who would have thought that Marines read? You learn something new every day. Tears of Joy and Sadness - Michelle Malkin has news on a story she has been following about Baby Jordan, who needed and received a heart transplant. There was a young man in our church a while ago who received a second double-lung transplant a little over a year ago yet died not long afterwards. Though it is well and good that Jordan received the heart she needed, please remember that another young child had to die before the transplant could take place. Remember, as well, that child's family in your prayers for Jordan. Poetry - I'm not feeling very creative today, so I'm going to send you to DoggerelPundit, a much better poet than I. He has an interesting entry for January 22nd of this year, penned by a Vietnam vet. Why do I do the whole poetry bit? Because it is good for people to get a wide variety of cultural exposure. Hugh Hewitt does the same thing on his show, he has a poet come in and do one or two segments. He also has a Shakespeare expert and a book expert come in and talk for a bit. The idea is to help us become more well-rounded. |
