The Inauguration - Wonderful speech, wonderful theme. The speech can be found here (you're welcome), and my poem of the day below.

He stands as victor, in ballot and in court
proclaiming his faith to his nation.
He calls us to high service, but not of the sort
that increases personal station.

Another bemoans defeat and despairs
His desires struck down, sans comment.
Michael, in anger, is against a prayer,
against the word 'God' he is hell-bent.

Cries the victor 'Freedom!' he both warns and bolsters
against foe and for friend of his land.
'My course is set, so rise tall and seize thine holster:
the friends of tyranny shall not stand.'

From His high station He looks down well pleased:
'He takes up My cause for those victims.'
'From here shall I bless him, while on his knees,
for the means of freedom he fathoms.

Cheap doggerel, to be sure, but not for naught - there are patterns there, intentionally, both subtle and obvious.
