Ghost Riders In The Sky

When an article opens with the line "They called it 'Spectre baiting'", you know it's going to be a good read. British act as bait in war with Mahdi.

Lurking in the shadows ahead was a group of rebel gunmen from the Mahdi army of Moqtada al-Sadr, the radical Shi’ite cleric. Brodie’s job was to lure them into the open so an AC-130 Spectre gunship overhead could destroy them with its cannons and howitzers.
Oooh, gunships! These planes have a special place here at MM.net. My dad worked on the avionics package for the old AC-130A and E models when he was stationed in Thailand. He helped to make sure that no ground unit that came under the support of the Son of Spooky ever failed to come out of the fight alive.

Fedora Tip: The Donovan.

"Steel rain on call." Load up Dick Dale's rendition of "Ghost Riders In The Sky" (the official theme song of the Spectre) and play it all day.

I went to "The Donovan" and posted a comment on the gunships. They are by far the best close-air support weapons platform ever developed to date. Our engaged, front-line troops are fortunate to have them available for support. I worked on the "Fabulous Four-Engined Fighters" of the 16th Special Operations Squadron when they were attached to the 8th TAC Fighter Wing at Ubon RTAFB, Thailand from May 1973 to May 1974. When I hear "Ghost Riders in the Sky" it brings back memories from both before Thailand and during. Its too long a story for here, now.
What do you mean load up Dick Dale's version? Do you have it and you haven't told your old man? Of course I remember Dick Dale and the Deltones when they played surf music and hot rod tunes from the 1960's. That was before he really went weird. And why haven't you sent your Dad a copy of the song? I'll just with hold your allowence until you do.

You obviously haven't heard Dick Dale's version. Jeremy, can you help him out some?
