10/22/2004 Entry: "Caliber Extremes" Posted by Maynard @ 11:59 AM MST Caliber Extremes Since Kimber has created a 1911 pistol chambered in the new .17 HMR rimfire round, I'm wondering when they or other companies will start selling conversion kits for the hot little necked-down round. The Armalite AR-10 Rifle in .300 Rem. Short Ultra Magnum has me wondering: why hasn't anyone built an AR-15 style rifle chambered in the all-time greatest rifle cartridge, the .30-06?
