The Lord says he can get GWB out of this mess, but He's pretty sure ...

John Kerry's focked.

There are only two things that can spare John Kerry from a complete and total meltdown at this point: honesty and repentance. He must publicly answer, with complete candor, the questions posed of his character by the Swift Boat Vets. He must also publicly apologize to every Vietnam Veteran for his since-disproven lies before the Senate in 1971. Only then can we even consider that this guy has any shot whatsoever at the White House.

In John Kerry's statement to the Senate, he said this:

"In our opinion, and from our experience, there is nothing in South Vietnam, nothing which could happen that realistically threatens the United States of America. And to attempt to justify the loss of one American life in Vietnam, Cambodia, or Laos by linking such loss to the preservation of freedom, which those misfits supposedly abuse, is to us the height of criminal hypocrisy, and it is that kind of hypocrisy which we feel has torn this country apart."

This statement says it all. This man does not understand that the struggle for freedom is universal, the world over. We the free people of the United States have an OBLIGATION to help the oppressed people of the world to achieve freedom. We went to Viet Nam to meet that obligation, to help the South Viet Namese people stop the Communists from enslaving them. People like John Kerry don't understand the obligation because they don't want to assume the responsibility that goes with that obligation. The responsibility to fight oppression that would take away people's freedom or keep a people in oppression.

We are in the same fight now that we were in 35 years ago in the this country in the debate over Viet Nam. We are arguing the point all over again, because it was never resolved back then. We are facing the same fight now over Iraq. Those of us who are willing to assume the responsibility along with George Bush are willing to fight for freedom for the Iraqi people. Those who oppose war at any price, like John Kerry and the anti-war crowd, are not willing to assume the responsibility.

We MUST not lose this fight for the Presidency because it is the fight for freedom. For ourselves and for those oppressed people like the Iraqi's and Iranians and North Koreans and others who are oppressed. John Kerry and his supporters are again trying to say we don't need to fight for the freedom of others. We must fight for freedom for others because even our freedom is threatened. It was threatened in Viet Nam and it is threatened now. The enemy is slightly different, Communists before Islamo-fashists now. They are both evil.

In a way it is the same fight we had internally in the Revolution in 1776. The Patriots against the Tories loyal to the King. The Tories were willing to appease the King, the Patriots realized the King could not be appeased and we must fight for our freedom.

I am of a like mind of Patrick Henry. Give me liberty or give me death!

If they are not willing to assume the responsibility, could it be said that they are willing to assume the position?

Seriously Dad, I wonder if I should tone down my posts for the sake of your blood pressure.

I don't have a blood pressure problem and John Kerry is not causing it to go up. I get agitated but I don't let it get to me in a detrimental way. Besides, you need to vent once in a while to relieve the agitation. Don't tone down your posts. Speak your mind. I certainly did.

Philip,

The core of your argument seems to be this...

"...the struggle for freedom is universal, the world over. We the free people of the United States have an OBLIGATION to help the oppressed people of the world to achieve freedom."

How is that so? How do we have an obligation to to free people in other countries?

Keep in mind that as Christians all our principles, including political ones, are supposed to be governed by the Bible and Godly wisdom.

If your obligation to free other countries is based on Earthly political philosophy, I have absolutely no obligation to your or any other human's personal opinion about what obligations I do or do not have. It is merely Earthly wisdom.

So where in the Bible are we obligated to free other countries from corrupt rulers?

So if you believe this obligation to free other countries is a Biblical/Christian obligation then you need to cite Biblical support for it.
