Drinking Away This Week
I like the occasional mixed drink, but I don't endorse getting drunk. That being said, drinking games are fun ways of pointing out things that happen repeatedly in a given event. Like the Luke Skywalker whining rule in the Star Wars Drinking Game. Or these events in the Democrat National Convention.
- Whenever service in Vietnam is mentioned
- Personhood and abortion rights are incoherently blurbed
- GWB's is accused of being AWOL from service
- Reference is made to the scream heard round the world
- GWB is accused of lying
- Tax raises are supported
- Spending raises are supported
- Halliburton is denigrated
- Ronald Reagan's legacy is misinterpreted for political gain
- The phrase "rich are getting richer, poor are getting poorer" is mentioned, or some variant thereof
- Chug a beer in 30 seconds or less if Janet Napolitano makes a reference like Ma Richards "silver foot in his mouth" from 1988
- Health care is identified as the most important issue facing the US
- Someone screams "4 more years" when Clinton is introduced
- Twice if it's heard when Carter is introduced
- A "re-defeat Bush" sign, poster, or placard is sighted by the camera
The speaker list:
Monday, July 26: Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones of Ohio, Rep. Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, Rep. Bob Menendez of New Jersey.
Tuesday, July 27: Ted Kennedy, Christie Vilsack (wife of Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack), Gov. Janet Napolitano of Arizona, Teresa Heinz Kerry
Wednesday, July 28: Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico, Mayor Martin O'Malley of Baltimore, Md., Retired Marine Lt. Col. Steve Brozak of New Jersey, John Edwards
Thursday, July 29: John Kerry
Perhaps, if you want to have a tasty adult beverage while watching the convention and you feel like playing a turn at this game, you could choose 2 rules.
Oh, wait, you'd get plastered in 10 minutes. Never mind.
