Wedding Stories
And so it begins...

Two people enter, one person leaves.
No, this is not the Thunderdome, this is a miracle. And the two have now become one.

Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Scott Maynard.

It was a marvelous wedding to attend, and I'm a better man for attending it.

After exchanging vows, Matt and Jennifer Maynard, took their first pictures together as husband and wife, along with their family and bridal party.

Then we adjorned to join the rest of the reception, and had a wonderful meal of Orange Roughy. (Yeah, I didn't know what it was either.)

Matt and Jennifer's first dance was "You'll be so nice to come home too."
I've seen a lot of first dances, and this HAD to be the best one. Many at my bridal party table shared the same comment. "This is probably the best first dance song I've ever heard." (I'd never seen this one used before.) It was bluesy, slow, melodic, and very soulful. I loved it.

The Father and Daughter dance was done to "What a Wonderful World" by the great Louis Armstrong. It was very sweet. Jennifer's Dad, Joe, loves his daughter very much.

Finally, the Bridal Party was invited to dance to "Isn't it Romantic."
(This marked the first time I slow danced in 12 years!) [I don't count that time country dancing several years ago.] (Either I'm getting old, or I need a life.)

But there was something special about last night. I really can't put it into words. The families were wonderful, and astonished. Our church was wholely supportive and elated at the event. The ushers were on top of things, there was little to nothing to worry about. Everything clicked. It was truely wonderful.

So now we'll see Matt and his wife back in a few weeks. Until then, you have me to entertain you.
