Kim's Qs

KDT has some questions for his readers.

Question 1: If you could only have one handgun, which would it be?
(Parameters: Assume that both concealed- and open carry are legal where you live. Also, disregard all thoughts of "the gummint" saying you can only own one -- for whatever reason, poverty, spousal insistence, whatever, you can only own one handgun. Pick one that works for where you live, of course: if you live in the city, you may not want a Ruger .44 Blackhawk, but if you live in the country, that may be the perfect gun for you. Also, this could be a gun you don't currently own. Assume that ammo and spare parts would always be available.)

Answer: Colt 1991A1, just like I have now. All the fun & reliability of the original 1911A1, with an extra, built-in safety.

Question 2: Ditto for a rifle (exclude shotguns for the purposes of this).
The same parameters apply as for Q1.

Answer: An M1A or M14 chambered in .30-06. Yeah, I know it doesn't exist, but dangit, I like the 06! It's the best of both worlds: essentially an M1 Garand with a magazine. Add a scout scope (eye relief around 15 inches or so) and it's about perfect. I'll (begrudgingly) take the .308 if no one wants to make the .30-06 chambering.

Question 3: If you were told you could only drive one car or truck for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?
Answer: 1991 Ford Ranger with 4 wheel drive and an extended cab. For fun, add an after-market V8 engine instead of the standard 4-liter V6.
