Racism and Job Qualifications
Elton John Says 'American Idol' Vote Is 'Racist'
Apparently, the simpletons out in the great grand US of A can't identify real talent when they see it, according to Elton John. Towit:
"The three people I was really impressed with, and they just happened to be black, young female singers, and they all seem to be landing in the bottom three," said John, commenting on the tally in which the lowest vote-getter is eliminated.
Pardon my opinion, but is Elton John really qualified to give a professional opinion on music quality?
Anyone? Anyone?
As a matter of clarification, I have not seen the current season of American Idol, nor do I plan to. But to claim racism is the cause of the dismissals is to ignore the possibility that they really do stink, and in so ignoring, to also cast aside self examination. Elton, are you listening?
