The Fundamental Disconnect

Out at lunch today I saw an anti-abortion poster display along Grant Road. There was one guy, before the interesction, with a warning sign saying "Warning: graphic abortion pictures ahead". Around the corner there were others watching over the signs, which were pictures of the results of abortion in graphic full color. Walking along the median with their own protest signs were two pro-choice women. Their signs said "Roe v. Wade: 'nuff said!", and "PRO-CHOICE".

I realized as I considered what I had beheld that there is a fundamental disconnect between the two groups. One side says "my body, my choice", while the other says "don't harm the innocent unborn". Until there is an agreement on who is being harmed, this argument is not going anywhere.

In other words, one side says its a child, the other says its not. The side that says its not cannot logically sustain their position, yet they stubbornly refuse to abandon it. The side that says its a child refuses to abandon their position because it would mean giving up the argument for no gain whatsoever.

We are at an impasse, and one side has to completely change in order for agreement to come about.

Keep in mind that among these abortion activist 'tards are some of the same lefties who made it illegal to destroy an eagle egg in CA but fought against the bill to make it a separate crime to harm an unborn *human* baby while you're beating up its mother. It's impossible to reason with that sort of jacked-up logic.
