Sniper verdict #1 is in

John Allen Muhammad has been found guilty in the sniper case. Now the jury has to decide if his actions deserve death. Once upon a time in America a case like this would have ended a week or two after aprehension at a gallows near the courthouse. Now, we take a year to give the accused every benefit of his presumed innocence. I wonder what the Founding Fathers would have thought of how their Constitution is interpreted today. I suppose they would be glad that we stick to the parts about presumed innocence and a public jury trial, but I think they might be up in arms about the speed (or lack thereof) when it comes to trial time.
