German Whine, Italian Foolishness

There's an Italian winemaker that is putting wine in bottles with labels bearing the image of Hitler, Mussolini, and Crazy Uncle Joe Stalin.

No joke. It's apparently, to quote Alessandro Lunardelli (the wine maker), "a great marketing success".

The Germans, of course, are raising a stink about this, and rightly so. But the most disturbing thing about this little news nugget is that the bottles have been around since 1997. I can think of only a few things that could offend Italians who turned against Mussolini more than this, and none of them are pleasant.
