Adventures in the Old Pueblo: The President comes to town

The President is in town today, visiting the destroyed mountain village of Summerhaven and promoting his Healthy Forests Initiative. It would be nice to see Air Force One fly in today, but I'm going to be busy at work. Drat! FYI, the fire in Summerhaven was so bad that both glass and metal melted. My church owned two cabins up there, and both were lost. The reports I've heard from those who went up there say the entire landscape is surreal and the devastation is total.

That's not the only exciting news today. Man gets drunk, runs barricade, gets shot. Apparently he had a death wish, but it didn't have anything to do with the President coming to town.

If it seems that I get all my local news from one source, I don't. Its just that KOLD 13 doesn't have any news on the President (at the time of this writing) and KGUN 9 has a lousy website running on some Windows server that can't seem to stay up and running. Big surprise.
