End of an Era
It is time to get a new car. I've been driving a 1991 Ford Ranger for four years now. I reassembled the engine from a short block after it had been sitting in my dad's garage for two years (btw, 115,000 miles in 4 years on a Ford truck can kill the engine). Anyway, I took it to a mechanic and had it looked at for some funny noises last week, and he said the oil pump and/or crankshaft were in need of replacement. Oil pumps on that car aren't so bad, $60 and about 3 days work. Crankshafts, however, on any car, are a pain in the butt. So it's time for a new car. I'm hoping to get another truck or perhaps a light SUV, but I'll see what the Lord provides for me.
