04/09/2003 Entry: "Today is National Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day" Posted by Maynard @ 08:42 AM MST Today is National Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day GWB signed a proclamation yesterday making this National Former POW Recognition Day. Mark it on your calendars. These men and women have been through a very personal hell, many of them earning various valor medals as well as the POW medal, shown below. Thank God for them today, and pray that the POWs from this and other wars that are not home yet come home soon. The Proclamation The current list of POWs from this war The POW Medal, awarded to all US Military personnel that were held as POWs since the US started fighting.
