No, I don't want a lower house payment, I want you to stop forging my name

In the past few days I've received several "Returned mail: User unknown" messages from various mail servers around the net. The problem is that I've never sent out the mail that was returned to me. I fear I have been made the victim of Sender Forging. For those of you who don't know what that is, it is simple for spammers to falsify the From: line of an address and insert an address that is legitimate, illegitimate, or blank (just not theirs). Apparently, some spammer has sent out spam in my name to a large list of people. Some addresses on that list are invalid, and since he put my address in the From: line, I'm the one who gets the returned mail.

To those of you who have legitimate reason to contact me, please use the matthewmaynard.net address on the Contact Me page from now on. I am going to stop answering mail at the Yahoo address.

To that jerk who is forging my name, if I find out who you are, I will take whatever legal action I can to stop you.

To those of you whose e-mail inboxes have been abused by the forger, I ask that you please do not hold it against me. If you have any information on who this person is, please, let me know. Put "Forged e-mail address" in your subject line.
