Back in the Saddle Again

I haven't been on my bike since August. Today I took my truck in to have the engine fan taken off and replaced. I would have done it myself, and I tried to, but the nut just wouldn't turn without also turning the water pump, which I couldn't immobilize. So I took the truck in and rode from there to work, a distance of about 8.5 miles. It hurt. My average speed was 13.46 MPH, which is only a little lower than my average speed last August. Well, at least I got some exercise. But I'm not doing that again if I can avoid it at all.

Matthew,
No place to comment on your 41.3 mph speed entry. That's slow considering the Bonneville Salt Flats bicycle record is 138.673 mph set in August 1973 by Dr. Allen Abbott. They towed him up to speed and then he pedaled at that speed through the speed traps. Has someone since gone faster?
