Site News for February

You may have noticed the new logo to the left, the one with the cow. That links to a project called Distributed.net, which is a distributed computing project that solves difficult math problems. They've solved several encryption problems, and they are currently working on the Optimal Golomb Ruler problem. So unlike some useless problems, my computers are now helping solve encryption problems that have real life applications on Earth. I'm not sure, though, if its pronounced "Gollum", ala Lord of the Rings, or "Goo-lom", ala a French delicacy.

That other little logo is for GeoURL, which is a project to construct a map of different websites in realspace. Now I can locate both myself and my neighbors.
