The Case of the Missing Men
It seems that TV executives are scrutinizing their ratings data like astronomers examining rotational rates for galaxies, looking for the “missing men”. It is apparently critical to find out where the 18-34 year old males are and what they are doing, since so much advertising money rides on what they like. If they aren’t found, apparently the entire advertising world is going to collapse like a universe with not enough energy to continue expanding.
Meanwhile, a quick look at TV Guide shows us why they are not in front of their precious TV tubes, like they are supposed to be: “The OC Gets Even Hotter”, “Less than Perfect is an aptly titled series”, and a note about how Will & Grace will not have a pregnancy written in.
Perhaps, just perhaps, the young male demographic is not entertained by what’s on the boob tube.
Perhaps?
