Adoptions are very, very expensive, on the close order of $40,000.

Jennifer and I are offsetting our adoption costs through a matching grant program run by Hand in Hand Christian Adoption, Inc. They will match, up to $5,000, any donation made to them on our behalf, with all the donations being paid to our adoption agency to cover the costs of the lawyers, the home study, the adoption agency, more lawyers, and some costs for the birth mother’s care.
If you feel like donating, please send your donation made payable to “Hand in Hand Christian Adoption” and postmarked by August 25th to:

Do make sure it is postmarked by August 25th.
Do make sure that it goes to Hand in Hand, not us.
Do put our name on the outside of the envelope.
Do not include our name on the check or money order.
The donation is tax deductible, so don’t forget it when you’re measuring your pound of flesh for Uncle Sam next year.
