Exhausted
I’ve been up since 0630, and have been going all day. First we went to the Rivanna Rifle & Pistol Club high power match, where I scored a 383-2x. We then came home, showered, and joined our friends Cliff & Carrie for a quick trip up to Arlington (the neighborhood, not the cemetery) for a goodbye happy hour event thrown for a friend of ours who is leaving DC for Phoenix. She gets to keep her cushy government job, live in a cheaper part of the country, and hopefully get engaged shortly.
That took all afternoon, and the drive back took most of the evening, so I’m sitting here, staring at the computer, trying to think of something to write aside from this short, boring summary of today’s grandiose excitement. I could start a new NaNoWriMo project (they have a summer thing in July), but I’m not sure what to write about. I could continue my story about the assassination of the Chief Justice, or I could start a new story, like one about a character who can’t sleep for months on end, but doesn’t feel tired. Ever.
Not sure I could get 50,000 words out of that, but it could serve as a starting point for another yet-to-be-envisioned story. Regardless, I would have to make up for two lost days, which would mean writing 4,839 words tomorrow.
Hey, it’s a long weekend. I might do it.
