Where are the Bombers?
North To Alaska

B-52s are blowing up small portions of Alaska. My favorite quote from the story:

According to Pacific Air Forces spokesperson Maj. James Law, the forces are deployed as part of a continuous bomber presence in the Pacific that helps maintain regional peace and stability while enhancing U.S. Pacific Command?s force projection capability.

Translation: they’re sharpening their swords with one hand and knocking on the Commie NorKs door with the other.

Today’s Spam Word: Contradistinguish

Spam words are those words they put into the subject line that are supposed to sneak the spam through various filters. The trick doesn’t work, but it makes for some interesting vocabulary exercises. For example:

contradistinguish – trans. verb – To distinguish by contrasting qualities.

(Almost) Tanned, (Thoroughly) Rested, & Ready (for anything)

We have returned, and Hawaii was a lot of fun.

We kept up (sort of) with the headlines, so it wasn’t a surprise to see that George Tenet left his job, Ronald Reagan died, and Mohammar Qadaffi is still a colonel.

Meanwhile, the inbox has 87 messages demanding my attention (not counting the Yahoo account). There are 2067 pieces of spam that are demanding my wallet.

Welcome home.
